The Flanders Aviation Society (FAS) organized a great charity event on April 5th, supporting the Child Cancer Foundation. The evening was organized at the BARCO facilities in Kuurne, and Bronco Demo Team was kindly invited to take part. The theme of the evening was a presentation by Cdt Davy Blancquaert talking about his experience flying the F-16.
On arrival, the merchandise stand was set up, and the public started to come in to say hello. The reception hall was quickly filled up, and around 19.30 the presentation started. Cdt Davy Blancquaert made a very interesting presentation about the history of the F-16 in the Belgian air Force till the newest equipment used in today’s war scenes. Talking about the training needed to become an F-16 pilot, and his daily work-scheme. Included were some great footage of recent activities in Afghanistan and Libya.

Just before the break, a presentation was made by one of the members of the Child Cancer Foundation of the Hospital of Ghent, giving more information about the foundation, and what great work they do. The gifts were presented of the raffle, which included some really nice items like books, pleasure flights, and the cherry on the pie, a fantastic wooden model of the 349sqn F-16.

After a short break, the presentation of Cdt Davy Blancquaert was completed, and afterwards it was time for the raffle to take place. But first it was time to hand over the cheque to the Child Cancer Foundation. A stunning 1650 Euro was donated, thanks to the great help of the FAS organization and the visitors, thank you all!

To conclude the evening, the raffle took place, and many visitors went home with a great price! Bronco Demo Team were very pleased to donate some of the raffle prices, helping to sponsor the Child Cancer Foundation. Hereby we would like to thank the FAS for inviting us, and organizing this great initiative!
