Vliegcub Ursel and Werkgroep B-67 (a group commemorating the use of Ursel airfield as forward base B-67 during WWII by the RAF) are the organizers of a yearly fly-in at Ursel airfield in Belgium, called "Vervlogen Meetjesland". This year was a very special edition with the locally based "The Victors" formation display team celebrating their 10th anniversary and 70 years since B-67 was created during the allied advance in 1944. Furthermore 100 years of flying in war, 60 years NATO airbase Ursel (where the fly-in actually took place) and 75 years of flying at Ursel were remembered with some justified festivities.

Arriving on Saturday morning, a special welcome formation was flown with the Victors guiding the Bronco to Ursel airfield, opening the proceedings officially.

The day before a special memorial had been inaugurated for the Royal Air Force, who were stationed at the airfield with Hawker Typhoons during the liberation of Belgium and Holland in the second World War. The Royal Air Force had cordially sent over a detachment two Hawks and a Tornado for the static display.

On both days the Victors performed their great airshow routine in front of a vast crowd.

On Sunday a very fitting formation was flown by the Bronco together with Remko Sijben’s WWII Stinson V-77 Reliant – a true FAC aircraft “avant la lettre”.

An estimated 9.000 visitors came by to celebrate this unique event. Another fantastic weekend with perfect weather and great flying with many friends.
