During the Pentecost weekend, the 8th edition
of the Oostwold Airshow took place. Located close to Groningen in The
Netherlands, the organizers brought a nice variety of aircraft to their
show, including many warbirds. Bronco Demo Team arrived on Saturday afternoon
and received a warm welcome by the local volunteers. It’s a cozy,
very well organized, family event with a very relaxed atmosphere! |

On Sunday the weather was perfect for flying,
clear blue skies and pleasant temperatures. Although the main show day is
on Monday, the airfield opened up to the broad public with aviation related
performances both on the ground and in the air. In the afternoon, Tony took
the Bronco to the skies for a demonstration flight. With the nice weather,
the Cheerleaders soon exchanged their flight suites for the Bavarian style
Dirndles and toured the airfield for some great photographs. In the evening
the BBQ was lit at the “Hangar 28” bar for a great evening out
in excellent company. |

Monday morning, the airfield quickly filled up
with thousands of Airshow visitors, and soon after the first aircraft went
up. A great show was put on, including some rare warbirds like the Spitfire,
Mustang and Corsair. Some other participants were the Breitling Wing Walkers,
O’Brien Flying Circus, Catalina flying boat, the Hawker Hunter, Gold
Stars, Twister duo and many others. For the occasion, the Bronco flew a
very unique formation with three Yak-52’s of the Dutch Thunder Yaks
Team. After some formation fly passes, Tony split the formation, and performed
his solo display in front of the assembled public. |

It was a very enjoyable weekend at Oostwold, and
it was great to meet so many fans and learn to know new friends. The event
brought around 20.000 people together and we were very happy to take part
in it. Many thanks to all the volunteers and organization of the Airshow,
we hope to be back again in two years time. |
