At the beginning of each airshow season, Bronco
Demo Team members come together to review the past season and looking forward
to the new. This year Bronco Crew Chief Training Weekend was organized on
March 19-20 and - in keeping with the tradition - the the 5th edition of
the Bronco Fan Day was laid on on Sunday.
The weekend started on Friday evening where the
members came together for a teambuilding evening indoor skiing followed
by a Swiss Cheese Fondue dinner in true après-ski fashion. On Saturday,
the new season look-out was presented and the Crew Chiefs had a refresher
of the procedures. After lunch, the Bronco fleet was towed outside for a
thorough wash, presenting both in the best conditions for the Fan Day. During
the afternoon our Cheerleaders prepared an excellent dinner, which was enjoyed
by everyone.
On Sunday it was the big day with the already
fifth edition of the Bronco Fan Day, time really flies… In the morning
the hangar was prepared and around lunch the first Bronco Fans started to
arrive. As the weather was excellent, Bronco 99+18 was put outside in the
sunshine, sporting the new Tiger 1 markings and the recently installed sponsons.
Since last year, the hangar was enlarged and it was an excellent venue to
show both Skyvans and also our second Bronco 99+26. The sales booth was
erected with the presentation of the new 2016 season gadgets. Sausages were
put on the BBQ.
During the afternoon the hangar filled up quickly
with many fans. We are so thankful to receive even more support year by
year. Some fans came by Gazelle Helicopter, which was a very nice surprise.
In the late afternoon the Bronco was prepared for the first flight of the
season. Our Swiss Cheerleader Christina had the honor to make her first
Bronco Ride with Tony. All the attending fans gathered around the Bronco
for the start-up and Tony soon took off and make a nice smoke-pass along
the runway before demonstrating a steep approach landing.
After the flight it was time for some group-pictures.
In the late afternoon, as the last sausages were enjoyed, it was time
to bid goodbye, but not for long though, as the Airshow season is approaching
soon.
Thanks to all the fans for coming by, we hope to see you all during one
of the show we will be visiting this summer!
